We have a new STAR Literacy Coordinator! 1


St Albert Further Education is thrilled to announce that Susanne Urbina is our new STAR Literacy Coordinator!

Susanne has 20 years of experience in the fields of program development, presentation, teaching (youth and adults) and management. She has completed her TESOL Certification and is an accomplished public speaker. Susanne has a passion for people, professional development of self and others, and has volunteered with a number of organizations working with seniors and new Canadians, since 2004. Recently, she has volunteered in our local public schools and has been teaching ELL classes in Edmonton and area. Susanne has completed IELTS training and Foundational Numeracy and Literacy training at Norquest College.

Susanne is a strong supporter of lifelong learning, and prides herself in seeking opportunities for personal growth. She believes that Adult Education and Literacy in particular, is the perfect vehicle to promote and offer engaging and vital learning opportunities.  Susanne has direct experience working as an English Language instructor for Further Education and also volunteering as a Star Literacy tutor.

Susanne feels her friendly and outgoing personality will enable her to confidently recruit, train and mentor volunteer tutors and assess potential learners.  She is a highly dedicated, energetic and motivated professional who we at St Albert Further Education are excited to be working with.
