Our Mission
To help adults in our community achieve their full potential by assisting them to develop their reading, writing, numeracy skills and/or English Language skills.
STAR Literacy is a non-profit adult literacy program that has been helping adults in St. Albert since 1990. We offer free tutoring to assist adults in improving their reading, writing, numeracy and/or English language skills.
We work under the umbrella of St. Albert Further Education Association and receive the majority of our funding from Alberta Innovation & Advanced Education, Campus Alberta. The rest of our funding comes from grants received through community organizations, fundraising, and generous donations from local businesses and community members. STAR Literacy is a registered charity and issues tax deduction receipts.
