Hello, I am interested in learning the language, this is the language of my grandparents whom I never had the opportunity to meet … can you please tell me if this course will be going forward.

    Thank you

Hi Jamie, I’m glad that you are interested in the Michif course. Right now we are just collecting names of those who are interested so I will add your name and then contact you in the new year when we know if the course will be running. Thank you…Dana Wallace

Hello both myself and son are interested in taking this course with Graham, I work at the St. Albert Museum and am part of the Michif Cultural Connections, this language is so important to the Metis Community. We would like to offer space for this course if need be. We have worked with Cheryl Dumont to put her in touch with Graham so we are really hoping that the course gets booked up.

Hi Sharon, thank you for your message. We are getting a lot of interest in this course and will be in touch next week once Cheryl speaks with Graham. Thank you…Dana Wallace

Hello, I would be interested in learning Michif. I have family in Saskatchewan who speak it still but my Grandfather did not pass it on. I would love to learn!

Hi Heather, the Mitchif course is now ready for registration. It will be Wednesday, January 30 to March 20 at the St. Albert Museum and the cost is $130. Half of the proceeds will be donated to the Michif Cultural Centre. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you…Dana Wallace

We would be VERY interested in connecting to this Michif class…by ??? Skype or LiveStream or????
Jasper Habitat for the Arts…we are hosting FOR THE LOVE OF METIS night in February…our monthly multicultural program. Do you think someone could come out for that? or do you think someone would like to come to Jasper for a Michif language course once a month??

Hi Marianne, I will pass your comments/questions on to the instructor. We are just setting up this course for the first time and the interest is very good. I will let you know when I have answers to your questions. Thank you…Dana Wallace

Greetings! This is so great to have this course offered! Are you open to having a very enthusiastic 8 year old girl attend? Mom and/or dad would come, too. Dad and daughter are Métis. Thank you!

    • Office Administrator Post author

Hi Meaghan, I will just check with the instructor as typically our courses are just for 18+. I will let you know. Thank you…Dana Wallace

Hi Meaghan, Yes this would be fine as long as a parent or guardian takes the course with her. Once you are registered, I will send you a consent form to sign for your daughter. Thanks…Dana

Hello, I an very interested in this course. I came to Canada from the UK almost 30 years ago, and in that time I’ve very much enjoyed learning about the many different cultures within this wonderful country.
I respectfully would like to be considered for this course, but only if there is available space after anyone with ties to the language etc has their spot in the class.

Hi! I just registrered for the michif course. Thank you for offerimg this awesome opportunity! I was wondering how bad it is if I miss the very first class. I have A professional commitment next week that I could eventually cancel but I would rather not. But I don’t want to jeopardize the learning progression either. Do you think I could skip the first lesson or would it be to hard for me to catch up afterwards? Thanks,
    Eva

Hi Eva, you will be ok if you miss the first class. There is another student in the same situation. Just speak with the instructor in class 2. Hope you enjoy the course!

Due to unforeseen circumstances I am unable to make the first class. I am looking forward to learning this language from the amazing instructor.
