Students will be asked to fill out an application form (assistance provided if needed) and will be interviewed by the Coordinator. A brief assessment of the student’s reading, spelling and writing will be done in order to design a course of study for that student. The student will be matched with a tutor according to suitability, interests, needs and availability of both student and tutor. The student and tutor will meet weekly at a mutually convenient time from September to the end of June at the St. Albert Public Library or another location approved of by the Coordinator. The Coordinator will monitor the progress of students. Activities will be offered that will help students build a network and confidence.

Dreams do come true!

One very hot day, I was struggling with a script and it hit me that it would be impossible to become an actor without being able to read.
On the dash of my car was a card that my wife had given me. It said "STAR Literacy". I made the call! And now I can spell my daughter's name, read scripts and I am even writing my own scripts.
It is really great to see life in a way I had only dreamed of.
